24 Hours in the Woods? You know you want to! 🌲🧭

Forget quick social media stories—this is an experience that gets under your skin. The 24-hour Orienteering Relay (24 hodin OB štafety) isn't just another race; it’s a "nonstOB revival" of the legendary relay traditions from the 80s and 90s. It’s a heartfelt project built on raw emotions, team spirit, and a true passion for orienteering.

What’s it all about?

Imagine a six-member team (including at least two women), one shared tent, and 24 hours of nonstop action in the forest. After a mass start and the initial mandatory "farsta" stages, the strategy is entirely up to you—your team chooses courses from a "package" of various lengths and difficulties. You’ll navigate through the bright day, the fading twilight, and the deep night, where reflective markers on the controls light your way.

Why do we love it?

• Club Unity: It’s about the people—cheering together by the fire, the struggle of crawling into a damp jersey at 3 AM, and that indescribable feeling when the whole club breathes as one for a single race.
• The Legendary Trophy: The top club-based teams compete for the cult carved traveling owl ("putovní sova").
• A Living Arena: The race centre is always a large meadow hidden in the forest. No exhausting treks between the car and the start; camping, the relay exchange, and the finish line are all right there.
• Full Service for Racers: We don't do boring catering. "Kavárna Stavárna" serves homemade cakes and pancakes, while "Houbova vývařovna" keeps you going with hearty stews. Add craft beer from local breweries, a mobile sauna for recovery, and a playlist of your favourite tunes, and you have the perfect weekend.

Not ready for the full 24-hour grind?

No worries! We also offer a 12-hour relay for smaller groups or youth teams, and a 6-hour race designed specifically for children, so the next generation can soak up that unique arena atmosphere.

Looking ahead

We hold this race in odd-numbered years to alternate with our friends’ traditional 24-hour event in Germany. Following the success of Dubenec (2023) and the elite JWOC terrains of Hůrky (2025), we are already looking forward to the next chapter.
